About cPanel

cPanel is the best control panel for managing a website … hands down, not only for its myriad of features, but also the ease with which all these features can be implemented.

cPanel has an easy to use File Manager, which enables you to upload and manage web pages and their content without the need for an FTP client, such as Dreamweaver for example. You can of course use the traditional file transfer methods such as FTP, SFTP, and FTPS as well.

Installing many of the commonly used web-based applications, such as WordPress, osCommerce and ZenCart stores, phpBB forums, and many more, is literally a matter of clicking a few buttons.

There are options for backing up of data, customizing error pages, creating email accounts with options for email forwarding, mail spam filtering, and more.

cPanel is excellent for SEO in terms of tracking web traffic. Web statistics can be monitored by different statistics generators, and scripts, including Webalizer, Analog Stats, and my favorite, Awstats.

Other features include easy database management, other software management through Fantasico, security features such as password protect directories, and web marketing credits … although I suppose  some of these features are dependent on what host you choose, but both HostPapa and HostGator are very much identical when comparing their cPanel control panels.

Honestly, there are so many other great features found in cPanel that it leaves any other control panel in the dust, and that is why I would strongly recommend going with a host that provides you with cPanel for your web site administration. This becomes more important, I think, as you start building more and more websites under your hosting account, and you’ll come to appreciate the ease with which all the features can be accessed and put into action.

If you’d like to see a demo of cPanel, check out HostGator’s cPanel Demo – found under the Web Hosting tab. In their opinion, as well as mine, cPanel is the best control panel in the world.
